The Aircraft Wing Systems Installation Industrialisation team have an established industrial base at Broughton for Wing Systems
Installation and Testing projects across all aircraft programmes. We cover systems projects for manufacturing for the various
wing systems in way of fuel, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrics and testing.
We are currently investigating the use of new technologies for the mid-term to support the system assembly processes in way of
adopting new IT technology IWO mixed reality application, 3D printing, and modular manufacturing techniques, all to improve the
wing build process. In the short term we have a number of cost and cycle time improvement projects on-going that will aid
improved manufacturing and assembly techniques for electrics, hydraulics and fuel assembly and testing.
We have responsibility for all Systems Installation manufacturing processes and procedures including documentation that is
used in wing manufacturing i.e. equipment, tooling, and calibration and maintenance instructions. We have responsibility in
contributing to future development programmes and development of new technology associated with Systems Installation and
assembly techniques.
The Intern will work alongside our team in assisting the development and progress of our projects. This will provide an
experience and insight into wing engineering, project management, wing manufacturing and systems installation and test of the
various aircraft systems used on Airbus aircraft.
You must be an undergraduate studying towards a degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing Systems or
Manufacturing Engineering.

– Good IT skills (MS Office)
– Good written, verbal, negotiating and communication skills
– Able to work on your own initiative
– Project Management experience would be beneficial but is not essential
– Some knowledge of CAD/CAM and Prototyping would be an advantage
