A unique opportunity to gain your level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
This varied role will see you:
•Deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups, including SEN support*
•Make sure that the pupils you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity
•Support the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues when required
•Support the teacher in promoting positive behaviour
•Listen to pupils read and read to pupils as a class, group or one-to-one
•Help with the planning of some lessons*
•Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ progress
•Carry out administrative duties, such as taking the register, preparing classroom resources
•Create displays of pupils’ work
•Provide support outside of normal classes, such as helping during exams or chaperoning on school trips
•Help with extracurricular activity such as prep/revision sessions, lunchtime supervision, supervising students when crossing the road
•Open the school and do safety checks.
•Make sure that the changing areas are clear and toilets full with loo roll and soap etc.
•General daily school communication with parents and staff
•Safeguarding officer and ongoing pastoral care*
•Updating school policies/Checked termly or when there is an update*
•Complete the schools Census for the Government. *
•Up keep of the Single Central Register*
•Checked termly or when a new member of staff joins or leaves*
•DBS Checks for staff*
•Joint 1st Aid at work representative
•Joint Fire Marshall
•Up date the staff handbook in line with Department of Education guidelines.*
•Making sure the fire regs and PAC testing are in line with law and communicate with London City Fire who take care of alarms and fire equipment during school time*
•I organise the Health & Safety officer to inspect the school.
•Order stationary and other items
•Stage ONE: Pastoral contact with parents and students. Answering emails and phone calls in regards to daily school life, trouble-shooting issues and directing parents to the correct director when needed*
•YDA – I send and collect all documentation to parents in line with DofE requirements. I receive and implement all documents and place information in files so Directors are able to access information*
•Admissions register updates for new students*
•Organise the school French trip*
•organise the teaching plans and evens diary*
- GCSE’s passes are preferred but not essential as Functional Skills in Maths and English will be completed.
- Previous Experience of working with young people is desirable
- An ability to work with teenagers and young people
- Quick thinker
