‘A sound mind in a sound body’ is a well known expression.
Just like ‘Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.’
So how are these two sayings related to sport apprenticeships?
‘A sound mind in a sound body’ is widely used in sports and educational contexts, to convey the theory that physical exercise is an essential part of psychological and mental health.
Sport apprenticeships can lead you to many different routes both testing the mind and the body such as:
- Personal training
- Sports coaching
- Physiotherapy and injury recovery coaching
What will you learn?
Through sport you will acquire many skills which you will naturally exhibit not only in your apprenticeship but in general conduct too. If you truly assimilate the lessons taught to you as a sport apprentice then on the account of disappointment you will never feel heartbroken, you will obey your superiors and understand the importance of team work, you will never view enemies as below you but demonstrate your utmost respect to everyone. These lessons can be life changing.
‘Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.’ This phrase can be applied to different learning techniques. Not everyone is made to be theoretical physicists, the same as not everyone will be a vigorous sportsman/woman so think twice before you measure against inappropriate standards.
Now what is your genius?
If you answered sport to being your genius, then we can help you. We currently have many vacancies in the Manchester area for people who have a passion for health and fitness, and want to avoid the monotonous 9-5 office apprenticeships.
