Before delving into this industry, you might want to know what a day in the life of an accountant Apprenticeship actually entails. No two days will ever be the same.

What will my responsibilties include?

You will face new challenges every day and will be exposed to new areas almost on a weekly basis. This enables you to really gain exposure to a wide variety of clients within several industries. The first thing you will do is check emails as it’s important that clients’ queries are answered quickly. Clients also expect an efficient service in this on demand economy, so leaving unanswered emails for 3 or 4 days is not an option.

A typical day will involve carrying out tasks such as VAT returns, accounts, tax returns, client queries over email and telephone and the occasional meeting. You may also help with queries from the sales department and ensure any outstanding queries are chased up. Throughout this compelling apprenticeship you will gain an ability to simplify complexity, hone in on key issues of economics and markets, tease out what does and doesn’t matter, taking something that is disorderly functioning and straightening it out.
