Where would we be without construction? You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world… but it requires people to make the dream a reality.
There are thousands of buildings being built each year which means the construction trade will continuously be in high demand, your jobs may range from repairing small maintenance jobs, to sorting out the roads, building an extension from scratch, right up to an entire house, you’ll build whatever the client wants.
Builders think of success and failure as feedback. They don’t judge either as a complete win or loss. They believe in being an innovator.
As an apprentice you will be required to do the following:
- Preparing and cleaning the construction areas
- Delivering and distributing supplies (expect some heavy lifting)
- Assisting workers with equipment
- Helping with small tasks
- Assembling and disassembling scaffolding
- Learning new skills from experienced builders
‘The larger stones do not lie well without the lesser’, this was intended to provide wisdom to the impatient. The mechanism behind this implies that everyone has to start somewhere. The stones are references to our efforts and goals, the expert in anything was once a beginner.
