Have you got what it takes to become an operational leader for the UKs largest water company?

Your journey at Anglian Water starts as a Graduate, dive into a world of opportunity!

Water is vital and will never be going out of fashion. At Anglian Water we serve more than six million people, inspired by a big but simple idea; we are more than just a utility company. We enable businesses to grow, environments to flourish and families to get on with their day to day lives.

We have a reputation as industry innovators. We're constantly exploring; working hard to find new and better ways to look after our customers' needs.

And this is where you come in - we need more great operational leaders to help us on our mission!

What will you be doing?

We're recruiting for 8 Graduates to come and join us in September 2021. Our Graduate scheme is an opportunity like no other! It's a two year course where you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a huge variety of people, with a range of different skills.

The programme will give you the exclusive opportunity to work in all our core business areas where you'll be supported by different placement managers across our region. For the duration of each placement, you'll learn the skills and knowledge that you'll need to flourish in a operational management role.

As a Graduate with influence, you'll have that natural get up when it comes to leading and managing teams, gaining operational management experience to ensure our precious supply of water is accessible whilst helping us to embrace the obstacles we face and transforming our business into the water company of the future.

During the Graduate Programme, you'll get involved with opportunities such as:

  • Spending time with our field teams learning about the water recycling treatment process

  • Gaining on the ground experience with network maintenance, sampling and leakage to help ensure that we continue to deliver a reliable supply of safe, clean water to our customers

  • Identifying and delivering optimisation programmes across the treated water distribution network

  • Understanding the maintenance of assets and driving efficiency across our business

  • Understanding the focus on health and safety and why it is at the heart of everything we do

  • Getting involved in supporting and managing big incidents caused by extreme and adverse weather conditions, making sure any impact on our customers is controlled and minimised

Where will I be based?

During COVID-19 restrictions, you'll be required to work at home and your base location will be the closest Anglian Water office to you, this could either be Lincoln, Huntingdon or Peterborough. Once restrictions are eased there will be a regular requirement for you to travel around our region, embracing the outdoors on different placements.

As a valued employee, you'll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care

  • The option of taking out a £5,000 interest free loan

  • £2,500 to help with the costs of relocation

  • 26 days annual leave

  • Pension scheme - Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%

  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle

  • A savings scheme which all employees are eligible to join on an annual basis

What does it take?

  • A minimum of a 2:2 degree (any disciplines welcome - inspire and surprise us!)

  • A strong passion to make a difference whilst leading, motivating and developing teams

  • A relentless desire to succeed

  • A zest for complex problem solving

  • Relish the excitement and opportunity to work outside of your comfort zone

  • Eager to take risks and continually explore new opportunities
