They are developing their virtual and technology arm of the business and have an opportunity for a Junior Software Developer apprentice to help with internal systems and development.  

As a Junior Software Developer apprentice, you will be an important part of the team. Full training and support will be provided by the Software Development Team, your Manager and workplace Mentor who is also completing a Software Apprenticeship. 

They will help you build your skills throughout your apprenticeship and thrive in your role as a Junior Software Developer Apprentice. 

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Write working code using Umbraco and Java plus many more applications 

  • Develop user interfaces

  • Link code to a database

  • Test code and analyse results to correct errors

  • Problem-solving and de-bug code

  • Assisting with a wide range of website projects

Working with Microsoft applications such as:

  • Outlook 

  • CRM Dynamics 

  • TEAMS 

  • Power Apps 

  • Forms 

  • Add-ons 

Desirable skills:

  • Exceptional work ethic

  • Organised

  • Good planning skills

  • Effective time management skills

  • A basic understanding of web development and how to Install software

  • Being able to code in HTML, CSS or JavaScript would be an advantage to your application

Personal qualities:

  • Passionate about Software & Web Development

  • Enjoy researching applications and developing your software and web development skills

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with an upbeat attitude

  • Excited by new challenges and hungry for success

  • Able to use initiative and be proactive in your approach

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

7 GCSE’s total:

  • English GCSE grade D or above

  • Other 6 GCSEs, including Maths, to be C or above

You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject. 

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Future Prospects:

On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will have everything you need to launch and develop your career in software development.

After you have completed your apprenticeship, you will be supported as you to take the next steps, including a promotion with enhanced salary and benefits package and further training and progression onto a higher level apprenticeship, if that’s what you want.
