Overview: 


We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. 


You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete an Software Development - Level 3 Apprenticeship. 


Responsibilities:


The projects they could work on will be one or more of the following:



  • Supporting and implementing enhancements to sites/apps that we have developed for our digital customers.

  • App development/website enhancement.

  • Enhancements to Fundraising Fundamentals.


Desirable experience:


We are willing to look at those that have developed either a website, mobile or PC app.


Ideally, they would have done the Computer Science GCSE, result isn’t key we are keen to see how well they have done in the programming aspect of the exam.


That we need someone with .Net and C# skills who has excelled in development both at school and as a hobby. Not ICT and not just as a hobby.


What skills and experience we are looking for: 



  • A real flair for development – we will want you to have used .NET and C# as part of your course and in your spare time.

  • A good technical ability and some experience in web development. This could be through a personal project or self-learning.

  • Natural flair for problem solving and ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability and experience of working in a team – can we at school or outside in groups – eg team sports or voluntary work you may have done.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and a can to attitude

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • A good understanding of programming algorithms

  • Ability to work to deadlines and on multiple projects at any one time

  • We would like to see evidence of your technical skills if possible – links to websites that you have worked on or GitHub links to code – from something you have done in your spare time.

  • We need someone with Net and C# skills who has excelled in development both at school and also as a hobby.  Not ICT and not just as a hobby.


It would also be useful (but not essential) if you have a working knowledge of some of the following:



  • .Net framework

  • C#

  • NET MVC

  • jQuery, HTML, CSS


Entry requirements:


The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:


7 GCSE’s total:



  • English GCSE grade D or above

  • Other 6 GCSEs, including Maths, to be C or above


You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject. 


You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. 


If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Salary:



  • £16,000 - £20,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills.

Future prospects: 


92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programmes offer on-going development tracks.

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.


To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
