Overview / Key apprenticeship information:

Job position – Commercial Analyst - Apprenticeship

Fixed term / duration – 17-18 months, with potential to go permanent for the right candidate

Salary - £16,000 per annum

Holiday – 20 days per year

Based – Royal Wootton Bassett, Swindon 

Reporting to – Commercial Manager

Overall Objective:

This role supports the business strategy and at the end of the apprenticeship the ideal candidate will be able to provide commercial insight into future opportunities and risks and take responsibility for daily decisions in order to increase profitability and volume of the business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with analysis on their business area, providing updates, raising concerns, and proposing recommendations to the Commercial Manager.

  • Support Product and Marketing teams to deliver the monthly sales P&L and retention plan.

  • Participate in weekly and monthly trading meetings.

  • Analyse distribution and product performance on an ROI (Return on Investment) basis.

  • Review product performance and recommend products that require yielding to ensure maximum returns.

  • Track performance of all yielding decisions.

  • Assist with analysis for selecting marketing decisions for their business area.

  • Write the weekly marketing summary.

  • Track monthly funding plans.

  • Review daily KPI’s for their business area (adhoc).

  • General analytical tasks.

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • Level 3 Qualification + at least 12 months of work experience* + robust onboarding plan (learner must work in the organisation for 3 months before signing up)

  • OR business-related degree e.g: business, finance, economics, maths, etc.

  • OR non-business-related degree + at least 6 months of work experience*

  • OR existing staff member with 2+ years of work experience**

*Work experience relates to any valid work experience 

**Existing staff work experience should not be in a business analyst role 

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programmes offer on-going development tracks.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
