We are currently looking to recruit a Residential Support Worker to join our children's home based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. |
Our home is a medium to long-term placement for up to 4 young people and seeks to supply outcomes for planned admissions but emergency referrals are considered. We place high value on relationships with and between young people and staff. This work may include supporting young people in education; encouraging them to attend local clubs and activities; ensuring all health needs are met; helping them develop skills for independent living; building resilience; increasing self-esteem; and equipping them with the knowledge and ability to keep themselves safe.
As a Residential Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible. Both personal care and participation in activities are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital.
Due to the nature of the role you must hold a full drivers licence.
As a Support Worker, you'll be doing the following:
Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential for this role (we can support with the training of this.) Successful applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.
Due to the rural location of the home near Mansfield, and duties involved supporting the young people you would need to be a driver and have a valid driving licence.
A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a Support Worker, in our Home you can you should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays. This role will include some double shifts with sleep in's. Rotas are planned with advance notice.
Doubles 07:30 - 23:00 + sleep in shift and then 07:00 - 23:00
Singles 07:30 - 23:00
