What ICT Apprenticeships are there?
You might be wondering what type of ICT Apprenticeships there are out in the big wide world, there are various Apprenticeship programmes within the ICT industry, some you might not even have thought about the opportunities are endless:
Software, Web and Game Development – Working in games development you’ll be involved in the creation and production of games for personal computers, games consoles, social/online games, arcade games, tablets, mobile phones and other hand-held devices. Your work will usually be concerned with either design including art and animation or programming.
Network Installation, Support and Design – It could be a new call handling system for a call centre or an improved ATM network for a bank. Network support engineer jobs are all about designing, installing and maintaining the communications, file sharing and the general IT resources people rely on every day.
Hardware Installation Support and Systems Architecture – Apprentices in this sector will design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Performing systems management and integration functions.
Cyber Security and Software Testing – This involves implementing, testing and operating advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture. As well as performing on-going security testing and code review to improve software security and troubleshooting and debugging issues that arise.
Social Media and Digital Marketing – This will include developing a distinct online presence by attracting high numbers of internet followers through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, you’ll create high optimisation for the company you are working with. You’ll design website material such as banners and blogs as well as uploading images to the website. This Apprenticeship revolves around promoting the business using marketing strategies inclusive of paid marketing and alternatives such as email campaigns.
Telecoms Installation and Support – You’ll provide a range of services and engineering solutions revolving around different modes of communication and information transfer, such as wireless telephony services, radio and satellite communications, internet and broadband technologies.
