3D CAD Modeller - £35-£40k DoE - Office Based Role in Heanor

5D are working with a leading civils contractor who are heavily involved in HS2 and a variety of other blue chip construction and infrastructure projects. 

 

Over the last twenty years, this business has grown to be one of the UK’s leading principal contractors, and have developed a reputation for excellence.

 

Due to a growing order book we are looking to add a 3D CAD Modeller in to the design team. Working specifically on the HS2 package of work, which is focused around earthworks, this role will involve:



Requirements

What the Role Will Involve:

  • Liaise with the client to acquire relevant and accurate project information.
  • Preparing design data received from the BBV team (buildings, bridges, and Viaducts).
  • Creating 3D models and distribute for machine control and site engineers using 3D CAD. They currently use Trimble and AutoCad LT, but any 3D CAD experience is acceptable.
  • Review design changes and ensure everyone is using the latest designs
  • Assist with Quality Assurance sign offs for work completed.
  • Drafting of drawings for the site team and client.
  • Processing site surveys and prepare the data to issue to the client.
  • Analysing all design documentation, including BOMAP roller pass reports to ensure the designs are fit for purpose.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders including QS, site engineers, and project managers to ensure the project is progressing smoothly.

 

What we are Looking in a Candidate:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Site experience is required to ensure you understand the terminology and equipment used on site.
  • An excellent understanding of civil engineering, ideally backed up with a relevant qualification.
