Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Education Technology Team at the North West Ambulance Service for an Apprentice Education Technologist - Multimedia. This is full-time role on a permanent basis ( hours per week) and is based at Walton-le-Dale, Preston, and a future centralised education team base.

The successful post holder will be responsible for developing learning content for staff and learners as well as implementing new and emerging education technology.

The post will also provide you with the opportunity to complete a Level 5 apprenticeship in Digital Learning Design over a 2-year period. We would also consider applications from candidates who are qualified at this level or equivalent.

Salary: Apprentice starting salary at £27, per annum (with progression to £28,407 upon successful completion of the first year of the apprenticeship).

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of the Education Technology Team, you will find this to be a busy, varied, and fun role, requiring excellent organisation, communication, and creativity.

Tasks will include:

Design, development, and implementation of multimedia solutions, such as audio, video, and motion graphics. Support the deployment of a range of educational technology tools such as virtual reality and simulation. Manage all pre-production (such as writing scripts and storyboards), through to production and capture, editing, deployment, and evaluation. Support the creation of e-learning using multimedia.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who;

Has a mathematics GCSE at Grade 4-9 (or equivalent). Has an English GCSE at Grade 4-9 (or equivalent). Advanced keyboard, computer, and technology skills (including sound knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages). Experience in designing digital multimedia solutions. Has a driving licence with access to a car. Can demonstrate the Values of the Trust.

About us

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualification and knowledge

Essential

Apprentices will study a Level 5 Digital Learning Designer apprenticeship (typically 2 years). Through this period, they will also undertake specialist software development courses leading to expertise within digital learning (multimedia) equivalent to degree level. GCSE qualifications in mathematics and English at Grade 4-9 or equivalent Training or equivalent experience in designing digital multimedia solutions

Experience

Proven experience in multimedia production including pre-production and editing Demonstrable knowledge of a range of multimedia products such as video, audio, animation, and motion graphics Knowledge and experience of current delivery channels and multimedia formats Experience of utilising professional editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier Pro Knowledge of using modern video cameras, basic lighting set ups, and autocues Knowledge of online delivery systems for digital products, including eLearning. Experience with emerging multimedia technology such as 360-degree video Knowledge and understanding of the NHS and/or other public sector organisations Previous experience working in an NHS or other healthcare setting
