Aalco is a large independent metal stockholder in the UK, specializing in aluminium, stainless steel, copper, brass, and bronze. They offer a wide range of products in various forms, including sheet, plate, tube, bar, and sections, as well as processing services like cutting and finishing.
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Support Apprentice to join their Glasgow site to support their sales team with aftercare. This role has the potential to transition into Sales.
This role will give you the opportunity to continuously expand your knowledge in a supportive and good working environment. This company prides itself on development of young people – they have supported 4 QA apprentices in the past.
Responsibilities:
- Working in collaboration with the Sales team to provide customers with excellent aftercare, you will process orders using BTS (in-house system) to ensure a time and smooth post-sale experience.
- Maintain and accurately update customer records on Sugar CRM in a timely manner, ensuring data integrity and supporting the Sales team with high-quality, up-to-date information to enhance customer engagement and decision-making.
- Regularly export and manage sales data from Focus (in-house system) into Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records for reporting and analysis purposes
- First point of contact for suppliers, proactively managing communication to ensure timely delivery of customer orders. Resolve issues efficiently and triage where necessary. Over time, transition into becoming the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a seamless service experience from supplier to end user.
- Increasing product knowledge - learning about the features of every product the company sells to offer the best service to customers in future role.

Salary: £18,000 per annum.
Working week: Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 5pm. Early finishes on a Friday work on rotation.

Future prospects:
Should you perform well in this role, there is an opportunity for you to take up a permanent position at the end of your qualification. Many of our previous apprentices are still with the company. Your future salary will be discussed should you be offered a permanent role.
