Salary:£32,000 plus a £2,000 welcome bonus

Start date:September 2026

What you’ll be doing

Take the opportunity to explore commercial, safety, and risk & opportunity management techniques, while gaining exposure across several functions including Construction, Planning, Strategy, Operations and Estimating.

Contributing to high-profile projects, you’ll prepare presentations and reports, manage important contracts, and build relationships with stakeholders. You’ll gain basic engineering knowledge along the way. We’ll show you how to sharpen your interpersonal skills, enabling you to communicate with people at all levels, and ensuring everything stays on track for success.

Who you are matters

You’ll need to have at least a 2:2 in any degree subject, and the flexibility to travel to attend training opportunities at various locations.

We look for inquisitive self-starters with a strong work ethic and the confidence to challenge how things are done. You should have an eye for detail with the ability to approach problems calmly. Other qualities we’re looking for include:

  • Willingness to frequently step out of your comfort zone to further your personal and professional development

What you’ll get out of it

Over 2 years, you’ll complete a series of development programmes to help you learn about the wider Rail industry, whilst understanding how to manage projects with a variety of complexity levels. You’ll also gain the Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ), along with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to launch your leadership journey.

Previous Graduates have rolled off into roles such as Project Management Assistant, Project Leader, Scheme Project Manager and Associate Sponsor. With regular opportunities to take on further training, you’ll gain industry accreditation, with the chance to attend networking events, webinars, and conferences.
