Five year Nursing Apprenticeship in Mental Health or Learning Disability Nursing leading to BSc (hons) degree and NMC Registration.
Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a new, five-year registered nursing degree apprenticeship programme opportunity as an alternative to a traditional university route. Successful applicants will meet the minimum entry requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) of 112 UCAS points and will be earning an annual salary of £22,383 in the first year, rising to £22,816 years 2-5 Inc. over the five years of study.
All university fees are paid by the organisation, adding to the attractiveness of achieving a first level degree and leading to professional registration at zero cost to the individual.
The degree level nursing apprenticeship has been in place for three years to support staff already employed within CNTW and we are now widening out this opportunity to individuals who wish to develop a career in nursing but by an alternative route.
Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will complete three months of paid employment with CNTW prior to the commencement of the apprenticeship programme to gain practical work-experience and real-life hands-on experience of nursing.

We are offering successful candidates a part time work experience for 13 weeks, with paid annual leave over the Christmas period 23rd December 2024 - 5th January 2024
The purpose of this activity is to support candidates of all ages and backgrounds understand the world of work and make decisions about their education and career and acting as a feeder into the nurse degree apprenticeship programme.
We will offer successful applicants an opportunity to gain some work experience in the following areas, allowing them to know more about their chosen career, gaining valuable practical knowledge before starting on the RNDA programme:
Children & young People's Services Learning Disability Services Mental Health Services Older People Services Neuro Disabilities
As well as a Trust Induction at the beginning of the 13wks and a University Induction at the end, there will be 8wks of timetabled workplace activity, candidates must attend placements 2days a week, the remaining 1/2 day a week you will take part in a reflection meeting with your Education Support Nurse & these will take place via Teams & be timetabled in advance.
