Who are the Maritime and Coastguard Agency? The Maritime and Coastguard Agency is responsible for the prevention of the loss of life on the coasts and at sea and implements the government’s maritime safety policy in the UK.

The Coastguard provides a 24 hour maritime search and rescue service and ensures that when inspecting ships they meet safety rules, certifies seafarers, register vessels. They are also involved in coordinating responses to pollution from shipping and offshore installations.

Maritime and Coastguard Agency Apprenticeships involve a combination of on the job training and theory which will lead to you gaining a range of practical skills, a nationally recognised qualification, and essential work experience relevant to the maritime and coastguard industry.
