What do Western Power Distribution Apprenticeships involve? Western Power Distribution Apprenticeships provide an extensive range of opportunities for you to learn a craft. During your Apprenticeship with Western Power Distribution you’ll be exposed to hands on experience and off the job training which will enable you to gain a range of highly sought skills, real life work experience and a nationally recognised qualification plus you’ll even get paid a competitive salary!

The following Apprenticeships are available at Western Power Distribution:

Overhead Lines This Apprenticeship will involve working at heights on overhead lines supported by steel or wooden towers.

Jointer A jointer Apprenticeship will see you working on underground cable networks.

Fitter As a fitter you’ll be working in substations on switches and transformers.

During your off the job training you’ll be working towards obtaining a Level 2 and Level 3 qualification in Electrical Technology Engineering. Throughout your Apprenticeship you’ll be offered full support by your employer, learning mentor and colleagues who will help you to reach your full potential.

To apply for a Western Power Distribution Apprenticeship, you’ll be expected to have 5 GCSE’s graded A*-C/4-9 including Maths, English Language and a Science or a Level 3 Electrical qualification BTEC/NVQ along with GCSE Maths and English Language graded A*-C/4-9.
