Escape studios recognised as the world leader by the rookies

The 2023 Rookies Rankings are in, and Escape Studios is ahead of the game, taking the lead to be ranked number one in the world for Production Excellence in Immersive Media.

According to The Rookies “Production Excellence in Immersive Media Games represents a prestigious recognition that celebrates schools for their outstanding dedication to teaching the art of game development for augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and virtual reality (VR) platforms...These schools transcend traditional game development education by immersing students in an environment that mirrors a professional game development studio, with a particular focus on the unique challenges and opportunities of AR, MR, and VR game development.”

Dean/Director of Interactive and Real Time Simon Fenton said: “VR is a passion of ours at Escape Studios, every year our 3rd year students work on an intensive collaborative project that involves all aspects of games production, it is a challenging project that utilises a great deal of technical and artistic knowledge, combining stunning visuals with a high level of optimisation. We are thrilled that our students work has been recognised by the industry panel at the Rookies as the best in the world. Our graduates have gone on to work at VR developers such as nDreams and XR games as well as working in Realtime VR related industries such as Architecture and other immersive media.”
