What do Birmingham Electrical Training Apprenticeships involve? - Are you looking for a career that’s challenging but financially rewarding? Becoming an electrician could be the right route for you. Birmingham Electrician Training Apprenticeships combine on-the-job training with academic study which will enable you to obtain real-life work experience, a nationally recognised qualification and practical skills relevant to the electrical industry.

During your Apprenticeship with Birmingham Electrical Training, you’ll learn about health & safety in the workplace, and build your knowledge of environmental technologies. You’ll also be involved in planning & selection for an installation, electrical principles, inspection, testing & commissioning and diagnoses & fault correction.

As an electrician apprentice you’ll need to develop a special skillset which includes the ability to work as a part of a team and on your own initiative, science and mathematics are important as you’ll need to be able to carry out cable sizing calculations while working from scale drawings. If you prefer hands-on learning and want to learn a trade, then an electrician Apprenticeship could be perfect for you.

Electrician apprentices will be working in a variety of environments from outdoor construction sites to working indoors in domestic buildings (houses), industrial buildings and commercial buildings (shops, offices, cafes). As an electrician, you could be working from heights or on the ground in tight spaces.

Once you have successfully completed your Apprenticeship with Birmingham Electrical Training you’ll be able to apply for your JIB grading as an Approved Electrician.
