Ibstock

“My Dad has been working on the Ibstock Brick production line for more than 15 years and I always saw how passionate he was about his job and the company he works for. So, when it came to deciding between university or an apprenticeship, I knew what I wanted to follow in his footsteps. Choosing Ibstock Brick’s Management Trainee Programme meant that I could make the most out of a practical and theoretical study. Ibstock really values us and our education. We are able to enjoy hands-on experience with production managers, while also having the opportunity to study and gain theoretical qualifications that put us on the path towards becoming part of the team”.

“University never appealed to me, I have always preferred practical learning, which is why I joined the Ibstock apprentice programme. In the first few weeks, I shadowed different teams in the factory, from engineers to production managers, following which they set us up with our own tool kits so we could learn about the equipment we will be using in the future. It’s been a great hands-on experience."

“After leaving school, I was little lost in what I should do next. I saw the Ibstock role advertised I thought I’d give it a go. Since joining Ibstock, I have achieved an honours degree, won apprentice of the year and have now been working in the business for almost 10 years. It’s such an exciting and diverse company, giving me invaluable experience across multiple divisions and disciplines that I hope will stand me in a great position for the future. For anyone thinking about an apprenticeship, I would seriously consider this programme. The programme gives you the opportunity to learn while you earn and start developing your career much sooner.”
