An Apprenticeship with ICAEW is for anyone whether you’re a school leaver, have just finished your A-Levels or a similar qualification or maybe you’re looking for a career change an Apprenticeship can offer an insight into accounting and help you to get a head start on your career.

What do ICAEW Apprenticeships involve?

ICAEW Apprenticeships are a credible alternative to university, they offer a practical learning route through on the job training and academic study enabling you to develop highly sought skills whilst gaining essential experience and a nationally recognised qualifications that employers are looking for now and in the future.

The ICAEW offers Apprenticeships at level 4 to level 7 so you really can get debt free degree. Apprenticeships can take from 18 months to 48 months to complete depending on the level.

ICAEW Accounting Technician Apprenticeship (Level 4 in Accountancy) – The level 4 Apprenticeship enables you to study and complete a CFAB qualification in finance, accounting and business and consists of a part ACA qualification.

ICAEW Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship (Level 7 in Accountancy) – This level 7 Apprenticeship will enable you to gain a full ACA qualification and you’ll be considered a fully qualified chartered accountant.

Throughout both levels of Apprenticeships, you’ll be in full time employment, earning a wage and applying what you’re learning in the classroom to your everyday job role. During your allocated study time you’ll be working towards a CFAB or an ACA qualification and this combined with your on the job training will equip you with knowledge skills and behaviors relevant to accounting and finance. You’ll also develop additionally transferrable skills such as communication, time management and commercial awareness.

What are the ICAEW looking for?

Each employer will have their own entry requirements but generally speaking, you’ll need a Grade 4 or above at GCSE Maths and English.
