Warwickshire Police

Our policing principles

There are nine policing principles that are built on the Nolan principles for public life, with the addition of 'Fairness' and 'Respect'.

Accountability - You are answerable for your decisions, actions and omissions.

Integrity - You always do the right thing.

Openness - You are open and transparent in your actions and decisions.

Fairness - You treat people fairly.

Leadership - You lead by good example.

Respect - You treat everyone with respect.

Honesty - You are truthful and trustworthy.

Objectivity - You make choices on evidence and your best professional judgement.

Selflessness - You act in the public interest.

These principles should also underpin every decision and action across policing. They should be used in day-to-day operational activities which include stop and search.

Careers - We’re always looking for committed people to join us and keep our communities safe in Warwickshire. We’re a small force with a family feel, and we have career opportunities for new and experienced officers in local policing and protective services, for professional services staff and for volunteers.
