What you’ll be doing:
As a painting apprentice you will be working with tools and equipment that are used for the preparation of surfaces to enable specialised coatings to be applied.
As a painter your role could involve abrasive blasting, spray paint application, using state of the art equipment to conduct specialised activities or detailed work to support a final product inspection.

Entry requirements?

England and Wales

-        Age 16+

3 GCSEs grade A*-E / 9-3 including Maths and English.

Scotland:

-        Applicants will need to be aged 18 years+ by the start date due to the requirements of LOLER Lifting Regulations 1998.

-        2 National 4s which must include English & Maths (excluding Application of Maths). 

Some roles may also require additional qualifications or UCAS points

 

What is the application process?

The stages of our application process include: a short online application. If you’re successful, you'll then complete an online assessment with interactive activities, and an on-demand video interview. The next stage is competency-based interview, either virtual or face-to-face.

Export Control/Security

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
