Founded in 1973, the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) is a non-profit public higher education institution situated in the heart of Manchester, a vibrant city in North West England. Officially recognised by the Privy Council, RNCM is a small, coeducational institution with an enrolment of approximately 500–999 students.

Specialising in music education, RNCM offers a range of officially recognised qualifications including pre-bachelor’s certificates and diplomas, as well as bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees across various areas of study. The college maintains a selective admissions process based on academic performance and artistic merit.
