The Glasgow School of Art
Established in 1845, The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) is a non-profit public higher education institution situated in the heart of Glasgow, a major Scottish city with a population between 500,000 and 1,000,000. Officially recognized by the Privy Council, GSA is a small, coeducational UK institution with an enrollment of approximately 2,000 to 2,999 students.
GSA offers a range of academic programs leading to officially recognized qualifications, including pre-bachelor’s awards (such as certificates, diplomas, and foundation degrees), bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees across various disciplines in art and design. With nearly two centuries of history, the school maintains a highly selective admissions process based on academic merit, with an acceptance rate of 10–19%, reflecting its competitive nature.
International students are welcome to apply, and GSA supports its diverse community with a variety of academic and non-academic services. These include access to a library, on-campus housing, sports facilities, financial aid and scholarships, international exchange and study abroad programs, and comprehensive administrative support.
