Established in 1992, the University of Derby is a public, non-profit higher education institution located in the vibrant city of Derby, East Midlands. With additional campuses in Buxton, Chesterfield, and Leek, the University serves a diverse student community of around 15,000 to 19,999 learners. Officially recognised by the Privy Council, it offers a wide range of academic programmes, from foundation and pre-bachelor’s courses to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees across various fields of study.

Known for its inclusive approach, the University of Derby has a selective admission policy based on academic merit, with an acceptance rate of 80–89%. International students are welcome and well supported. In addition to its academic offerings, the University provides a host of facilities and services, including modern libraries, sports facilities, global exchange programmes, online and distance learning options, and comprehensive administrative support.
