Founded in 1841, York St John University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the historic city of York, a small urban center in Yorkshire and the Humber with a population between 50,000 and 249,999. Officially recognized by the Privy Council, the university is a medium-sized, coeducational UK institution with an enrollment range of 6,000 to 6,999 students.
