What do Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeships involve?

Become an Apprentice at Jaguar Land Rover and you’ll learn from the best. You’ll work on projects that have a real impact on Jaguar Land Rovers global success. Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeships involve a mixture of on the job training and academic study which enables you to gain real life work experience, highly sought skills and a nationally recognised qualification – plus you’ll even get paid!

There are two routes within the Apprenticeship Scheme: Advanced and Degree. Whether you join as an Advanced or Degree Apprentice depends on your education level and your interests. The Advanced Scheme runs for four years and it’s designed for those who are taking their GCSEs this academic year or have already completed them. The Degree Schemes run for six years, and are appropriate for those who are in their final year of A Levels or have completed the appropriate A Levels or vocational qualifications required.

Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship

As a light vehicle maintenance and repair apprentice at Jaguar Land Rover you’ll be involved in a range of tasks which include the following:

  • Servicing vehicles – carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers’ guidelines
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
  • Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs
  • Producing time estimates
  • Maintaining repair and service records

This programme lasts for around 36 months and upon completion you’ll receive a nationally recognised qualification; Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) at Level 3.

Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeships

Vehicle Sales Apprenticeship

As a vehicle sales apprentice at Jaguar Land Rover you’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks which can include:

  • Greeting customers, discussing their key requirements and advising them on the most suitable vehicle
  • Arranging test drives
  • Negotiating sale and trade-in prices
  • Working out finance arrangements and packages, which may include organising registration plates, road tax and delivery of vehicles
  • Promoting any additional products relevant to the customer
  • Updating stock lists
  •  Managing advertising and updating the website
  • Keeping the forecourt and cars clean and tidy
  • Processing orders and completing relevant paperwork
  • Updating customers on the progress of orders and contacting potential customers to update them about new vehicles and deals
  • Inspecting vehicles pre- and post- sale
  • Attending auctions

The Programme typically lasts between 12 and 24 months.

Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeships

Customer Service Apprenticeship

As a customer service apprentice at Jaguar Land Rover you’ll be given a broad range of responsibilities which can include the following:

  • Interpreting customer concerns and comments and liaising with technicians
  • Booking/scheduling vehicle services
  • Liaising with customers about any additional work required
  • Estimating time and costs associated with repairs
  • Handling customer complaints
  • Responding to customer requests
  • Tracking the vehicle through the workshop

The Programme typically lasts between 12 and 24 months.

Jaguar Land Rover Apprenticeships

Vehicle Parts Apprenticeship

As a vehicle parts apprentice at Jaguar Land Rover your main duties will typically include:

  • Advising customers on how to solve a problem with their vehicle
  • Raising invoices for parts sold
  • Liaising with other members of staff
  • Working alongside on-site Service Technicians to ensure they have the parts needed to complete their daily work
  • Taking orders from customers both face to face and over the phone
  • Maintaining an ordered stock room and finding parts from stock

The Programme typically lasts between 12 and 24 months.
