The British Army
START YOUR JOURNEY AT THE ARMY FOUNDATION COLLEGE (AFC) The Army Foundation College (AFC) trains 16–17-year-olds for a future in the British Army, combining Military Training, Education, Leadership & Resilience, and Physical Training.
Junior Soldiers also enjoy excellent downtime facilities, including a refurbished Wellbeing Centre with games areas, a cinema zone, and Xbox stations.
Sport is a major part of AFC life, with opportunities across athletics, football, basketball, swimming, and more.
Here’s what a former Junior Soldier had to say about their experience:
“In March 2020, I enlisted in the British Army and completed the long course at the Army Foundation College Harrogate. The training gave me a solid foundation for my future career. I made lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories. Despite the challenges, the experience strengthened my resilience and shaped qualities that will benefit me throughout my career. I loved my time at Harrogate and hope to return as an instructor in the future.” — LBdr Smedley, Royal Artillery
