IT Apprenticeships: What you need to know and how to apply for the right one for you

IT Apprenticeships are a credible alternative to university if you’re looking to pursue a career in the industry. Unlike university where you will solely gain qualifications an IT Apprenticeship enables you to gain both industry related qualifications and practical experience through work.

What do IT Apprenticeships involve?

IT is heavily relied on in today’s society. Who doesn’t have access to at least one technology device? From the mobile you use on your journey to school or college to the computers you use in class or work. Everyone uses it. Even your parents!

The IT industry is constantly evolving and this makes the career opportunities school leavers can apply for so diverse and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. As digital technology advances there will be more and more roles available. Who really knows what the future holds?

According to the Job Market Report 2017 90% of people employed in the industry are men. To close the gender gap and redress the balance campaigns such as WISE are aiming to attract and retain women in STEM careers.
