KITS Apprenticeships provide school leavers with a stepping stone into employment. Are you keen to kick-start your career but have no previous experience? With an Apprenticeship you don’t need any as you’ll be learning on the job while also getting paid!

What do KITS Apprenticeships involve?

KITS Apprenticeships involve a work-based learning package which incorporates on the job training with classroom based learning which will enable you to develop your knowledge while gaining highly sought skills, workplace experience and a nationally recognised qualification which is relevant to the industry and role you’re working in.

KITS offer the following types of Apprenticeships:

Engineering

Mechanical Engineering – Roles can include the following: Engineering Operative, Engineering Maintenance Fitter, Tool-Maker, CNC Operative, Quality Control Inspector and CAD Designer.

Electrical Engineering – Your roles and responsibilities could include the following: Installation, Maintenance, Electrical Repair, Motor Controls, Fault Finding and Electronic Repair.

Fabrication and Welding – Role can include the following: Sheet Metal Worker, Plater, Fabricator and Welder.

KITS apprenticeships

Motor Vehicle

Light Motor Vehicle – As an apprentice in this area you’ll be responsible for servicing and repairing light motor vehicles such as cars and vans.

Heavy Motor Vehicle – This Apprenticeship will see you repairing, replacing and servicing heavy goods vehicles such as lorries and agricultural vehicles.

Fast Fit – As a fast fit apprentice you’ll need to be able to work quickly and under pressure while the customer waits for you to do the fitting. You could be replacing and repairing tyres, batteries, exhausts or breaks.

Auto electrical (Level 2 and Level 3) – Your responsibilities will vary depending on the level of Apprenticeship you’re undertaking but you could be working on a range of systems to diagnose faults and rectifying them. Systems you could be working on include: auxiliary electricals, engine electrics or transmission and chassis electrics.
