Step Forward is a unique programme for young people aged 17-20. We cultivate the skills needed to succeed at university or work and beyond in just 12 months.

We are run by leading national charity, The Challenge: the UK's leading provider of NCS. The scheme is free for all young people, so when you finish you’ll be head & shoulders above your peers and debt-free.
After the scheme is over what you do next is up to you. Our graduates have gone onto succeed in a variety of different ways, including to win degree-level apprenticeships, set up their own enterprises or study a subject they know they are passionate about at university.
